The ABB CA5-40E Auxiliary Contact Block is a four-pole accessory designed for front mounting on compatible ABB contactors. It provides four normally open (4NO), instantaneous auxiliary contacts and screw terminals for connections in control and signalling circuits. The additional contacts can be used in suitable circuit designs for status indication, interlocking and control logic.

The CA5-40E is designed for standard industrial environments and supports 50/60 Hz auxiliary circuits. Its rated insulation voltage is 690 V according to IEC standards and 600 V according to UL/CSA. The auxiliary terminals have IP20 protection. This contact block is intended for auxiliary control functions and is not designed to switch the main load.
