This ABB AF-series block contactor has three main normally open poles and is designed for applications such as motor starting, isolation, bypass and power distribution.

Its electronic coil supports a control voltage of 24–60 V AC at 50/60 Hz or 20–60 V DC, making it suitable for control circuits using either AC or DC supplies within those ranges. The contactor has 1 normally open (NO) and 1 normally closed (NC) auxiliary contact for control and signalling circuits. Its main circuit is rated for operation up to 690 V.

For AC-3 duty, the contactor is rated at 116 A at 220–440 V, 110 A at 500 V, and 65 A at 690 V. Its rated AC-3 motor power includes 55 kW at 380/400/415 V. Select the contactor according to the motor’s voltage, current and duty, and use appropriately rated overload and short-circuit protection as required.
